Improving Client Outcomes as a Certified Birth Healing Practitioner

What is a Certified Birth Healing Practitioner?

A Certified Birth Healing Practitioner has the skills and training to provide pregnant and postpartum clients with an extremely high standard of care that leads to both smoother births and faster recoveries. Through the Certification process, practitioners learn how to create a positive impact on birth and postpartum outcomes by:

  • Helping the baby get into an optimal position for birth
  • Preparing a pregnant person’s body for the movement and opening up of the pelvis which allows for baby’s passage through the birth canal
  • Working with the birthing team to provide information on effective positions for labor that are specific to the pregnant person’s body and ability
  • Teaching pregnant persons how to push their baby out effectively
  • Treating common and not so common postpartum patterns in the body to allow for quicker and fuller healing after birth
  • Addressing root causes of pain and dysfunction in both pregnant and postpartum bodies

In addition, Certified Birth Healing Practitioners receive holistically focused training that helps them understand that not all problems or pains in the body are physical. They will know how to explore physical issues as well as issues caused by stuck emotions, energy and traumas. They will develop the skills to work with the client on a holistic level and address these additional issues that can interfere with birth and prevent healing in the postpartum. These skills allow practitioners to help their clients resolve issues at a deeper level and often get to the root cause of the pain or dysfunction.

Why Consider Certification?

Certification deepens your comprehension and integration of the course material, so you can provide an expert level of care to your pregnant and postpartum clients. Certification will elevate your practice and give you the skills to confidently assess and treat your clients, so they get the care they need and deserve. Through Certification you will be joining the movement to create a better paradigm of care for pregnant and postpartum clients. When you achieve Certification, you will have all the necessary tools and skills to address any client’s needs, and you will be sparking your love and passion for this work at the same time.

Taking all the courses is one level of learning; however, unless you review the material, you typically only remember 20-30% of what is taught in any course. To become Certified you must thoroughly study and learn the material to pass the extra written exams and skills assessments required for certification. Becoming Certified will push you to dive deeper into embodying this work so you feel comfortable working with anyone who shows up in your practice. From typical postpartum issues to working with traumatized clients, you will feel confident addressing your client’s needs and have the skills to do so successfully.

How to Become Certified?

To become a Certified Birth Healing Practitioner, you must complete a rigorous training program that includes passing the required courses, participating in the Birth Healing Intensive, and passing the testing and skills assessments conducted by the Institute for Birth Healing team. Certification is a testament to your deep understanding of the curriculum, your ability to achieve excellent results with your clients, and your commitment to a high standard of care. It is also a beautiful opportunity to ignite your passion for this work that is truly transformational and lifechanging for your clients.
