How often are you holding these classes?2019-07-10T02:55:18+00:00

Currently we are teaching the courses once a month and are looking for hosts to bring these courses to your location.  If you have a space that can hold up to 10 massage tables and have a network with other bodyworkers to help fill the course please reach out to us at support@instituteforbirthhealing.com.    Please remember that the courses are 3 days and the space needs to be available from all day Friday to Sunday.

The Advanced course will be offered only in Longmont, CO, currently only once a year but might be increased to twice a year.

Do I have to attend the courses in a particular order?2019-07-10T03:03:31+00:00

While it is not necessary to take them in a particular order, the Pregnancy course is more like a Level 1 class to learn the techniques and then the Postpartum course expands on these techniques so it can be helpful to do it in this order.  If you are newer to bodywork and boney mobilizations we’d encourage you to start with the Pregnancy course first.

You can take the basic courses in either order but you must have attended the Postpartum course before going to the Advanced Treatment of the Postpartum Body course.

Do you offer classes that don’t include pelvic floor/internal work?2019-07-10T03:12:09+00:00

The pregnancy course only has a couple of internal labs so there is only one option for this course.

The postpartum course has been divided into a 2-day External Only course for those that can’t do internal work.  If you have the ability to do internal work please attend the 3 day Internal course option.   The Internal course includes all the external techniques as well.

How does the certification process work?2019-07-10T03:17:21+00:00

To become certified as a Birth Healing Expert, you need to attend all three courses, the two basis courses, Pregnancy and Postpartum, and attend the Advanced Postpartum Course.

After each basic course there is a written exam that needs to be passed by 85%.  If you don’t pass it, you can retake the exam within two weeks time.  The Advanced course does not have a written exam.

After both basic courses are taken you will need to set up a Skype session with Lynn and have a patient to work on during the call.  5 random techniques will be selected for you to perform on your patient as Lynn observes.  Hand placement, motion, assessment and treatment will be assessed for each skill.   Scoring will be based on a 3 point system with a total of 12 points for each skill.   A score of 50/60 points or above is needed to pass.    You may also do this skills assessment at the Advanced course.

If you do not pass, reassessments are possible at an additional cost.

Once you have completed the courses you will also need to write up 2 cases studies per course based on the information covered.  A total of 6 write ups must be submitted to gain your certification: 2 pregnant clients, 2 postpartum clients and 2 clients you’ve worked with using the advanced techniques.   Each write up needs to include your clients original complaint, what you assessed and found, how you treated and the results of those treatments. The case studies be limited to 2 pages maximum.

Once all of this is completed and passed you will receive a certification seal that you can use on your website and in social media to promote that you are a Certified Birth Healing Specialist.

Further questions regarding this certification process should be emailed to support@InstituteForBirthHealing.com.
