Lynn Schulte | Grief’s Impact on the Body

Show Notes:

Have you noticed an increase in grief in your clients? Have you experienced grief bursts?

In today’s episode Lynn talks about her own grief with losing her mother and how she helped a client through the grief they were experiencing during a session.

In today’s culture the majority of people are dealing with grief on many levels. Many individuals have lost loved ones in the last few years. When you lose someone you love it is not uncommon to have grief bursts. This is when there is a sudden overwhelming emotion that causes tears. Our society does not know what to do with these bursts of emotion. In general, there is no silent comfort, just awkward stares or avoidance of the person experiencing the emotion.

In a recent case, Lynn was treating a client that suffered the loss of her father years ago. Due to this she always tried to leave every interaction on a positive note just in case it was the last time she interacted with the person. She was closed off to coincidences that could make her feel closer to her father and dreams of him. Instead she was living in denial of his death. Tune in to find out how the grief in this client’s body was addressed so she could find freedom.
