Wondering exactly how the baby’s common descent position is related to common birth pattern I where the sacrum is elevated on and rotated to the right side. Is it because the legs and arms on mostly on the right and the face is facing the right so the right has more “stress”?
I’m not sure. It could be a typical pattern in the pelvis before birth that gets exacerbated by the baby’s passage. I love your thought process, though.
I think every pregnant mama should be educated about the ideal position for baby to move through the pelvis, what is/should be going on in the pelvis through the birth process, and ways to “help” that along.
Lynn, thank you for offering this mini course for free. I’m newer to practicing pelvic floor therapy and appreciate learning from you (I’ve been on the sidelines watching the Birth Healing Summits for the past few years and finally decided last year that I’m ready to join the movement to heal moms!)
Aleta, YEAH!! We need you and moms need you so I’m glad you are joining the movement. Let me know how we can support you! Thanks for takng the free course.

I am curious how the pelvis started open the outlet when the baby hit the pelvic floor muscle (0 station)…is it a reflex?
I’m not sure. The pelvic floor muscles are at station zero and is the pivot point from inlet to outlet opening. Maybe there is a reflex, I don’t know.
