Question-how long should this take for someone who is learning to listen? 30 sec? 60 sec? What if you are shorter than your client will it throw the listening off if the listern stands on a stool? Sorry if that sounds like a silly question but I am short, 5’2″ , and often my clients are taller than me. I did not know if there was a different technique needed if the client was taller than the practitioner.
This is not a silly question. You can stand on a stool to help keep your arm relaxed as it will throw off your listening if there is tension and pulling in your arm as you are listening. The pull from the top of the head should come into your hand within 30 seconds. If you don’t get anything, try gently pressing down onto the top of the head, release the pressure then listen and see if anything pulls you in or the head moves a direction.
