  1. I hear a lot from patients that their chiropractor told them “a rib is out of place.” Is it the hardening of the rib that doesn’t move well? I find it hard to believe it’s out of place unless there was a fracture. I have felt where the rib feels more anterior compared to the rest of the ribs and I am not sure what is causing that besides muscles pulling it possibly.

      That could be the rib is not in it’s proper place in the joint which can cause some pain with breathing. Usually hardened ribs don’t move well. The ribs can get out of place from an impact injury or the baby kicking on it consistently. It’s very possible but it also wont move as well so that is what you are assessing for in the ribs. That anterior placement you’ve felt is a rib out of place.
