Advance Your Postpartum Care Skills

When traditional postpartum treatments aren’t creating the lasting change you’re hoping for, the missing piece may not be the muscles or tissues – it may be the nervous system.

Advanced Postpartum Techniques teaches pelvic health practitioners how to integrate central nervous system regulation, advanced manual therapy techniques, and whole-body connections into postpartum care. Through practical, hands-on treatment approaches, you’ll learn how to address deeper restrictions, support long-lasting healing, and help the body become more receptive to change.

Whether you’re treating persistent postpartum pain, unresolved movement restrictions, or complex postpartum presentations, this course provides the next level of clinical reasoning and treatment strategies to enhance your outcomes.

“The wealth of new knowledge and information I have gained has helped me build the type of practice I love and the results speak for themselves.” – Melissa R., Physical Therapist

Why The Nervous System Matters

The body’s ability to heal after childbirth is influenced by much more than muscles, fascia, and joints.
The central nervous system plays a critical role in:

Tissue healing
Pain perception
Muscle tension patterns
Stress response
Movement efficiency
Treatment responsiveness

When the nervous system remains in a heightened protective state, tissues often resist change and symptoms may persist despite skilled interventions.

In Advanced Postpartum Techniques, you’ll learn how to identify nervous system involvement and apply treatment techniques that help downregulate protective patterns, allowing the body to more readily integrate therapeutic change.

FAQs About the Online Course

FAQs About The Live Group Cohort

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions, but if you have others: Contact Us

In addition to the regular benefits of a self-paced online course, our group cohort model gives you extra support and resources for a 6 week duration as you complete the online course on your schedule. You will still have Lifetime Access to the online course, AND you will also get:

  • 3 Live Group Calls via Zoom with Lynn Schulte to review the content, get your questions answered, see technique demos, get feedback on your own techniques, and see a session demo (or more if time permits)
  • Free access to a private online community specifically for your cohort, so you can connect with other practitioners and collaborate together as you go through the material
  • Access to the call recording(s) in case you can’t attend live, so you can benefit from other’s questions and the demo sessions
  • Weekly check-ins via email with tips and extra support

The curriculum is the same, but the support is different. You will receive lifetime access to the full online course — but you will also get 3 live group calls led directly by Lynn with the group cohort.

The live group calls provide an opportunity to ask questions, request demos on specific techniques, get feedback as you practice the techniques (requires a model who is not a practitioner for the second group call on July 25th), and view full session demos with Lynn. All calls will be recorded for continued access if you want to review them, again, or if you are unable to attend live.

The cohort is self-paced, but we will send you weekly check-ins with the goals for that week. The cohort is designed to support you as you work through the content, so the Live Group Calls will include the material covered up through that week. You are welcome to work ahead or catch up during less busy weeks. It’s up to you, but ideally, you will complete the online course before the second Live Group Call, so you have the following month to practice with continued support during the last Live Group Call.

Here is the sample schedule for 2025:

  • Week 1: Complete modules 1 and 2 (approximately 55 minutes)
  • Week 2: Complete modules 3 through 8 (approximately 135 minutes)
  • Weeks 3 – 6: Practice the techniques in clinic or on a model to get the material into your hands, complete the course evaluation and final exam

The next group cohort begins July 16, 2026. Calls will take place at 6pm Mountain Daylight Time (5pm Pacific Daylight Time, 8pm Eastern Daylight Time) on the following dates and will last for approximately 1 to 2 hours depending on the number of questions:

  • July 11, 2026 (Registration Closes)
  • July 16, 2026 at 5:30pm – 6:30pm MDT (Welcome Call, Review of Postpartum Body Techniques)
  • July 25, 2026 at 1pm – 2:30pm MDT (Review of Advanced Techniques)
  • August 29, 2026 at 1pm – 2:30pm MDT (Practice Review, Case Studies, Q&A, Demo Session)

Yes, all of the Live Group Calls will be recorded for continued access if you want to review them, again, or if you are unable to attend live.

All pelvic health practitioners who have completed the Holistic Treatment of the Postpartum Body online or live course.

The cohort is designed to give you the flexibility of learning at your own pace, but with the extra support and motivation from weekly goals, live Q&A calls and community connection. It’s the best of both the online and in-person course experiences.

Yes, absolutely! If you already purchased the Advanced Postpartum Techniques course, but want to join the cohort, then there will be a special offer coming to you via email on June 25th. Contact support (support@instituteforbirthhealing.com) for more information or if you do not see the email.
