Physical and Energetic Connection

Case Study: How the Physical and Energetic Connect

In today’s case study, Lynn discusses a session where the physical issues in the body help her client tune into the energetics of how she is showing up in her life.

Client History: I had a client this week who came to see me because she fell running. She was feeling out of balance and having some hip pain. I asked her how she fell, and she reported she landed on her right knee and right hand, then rolled over onto her right shoulder.

Assessment and Findings: As I assessed her body, I found her right hip and pelvis jammed up and pulled posteriorly, almost like they were pulling away and hiding. From a physical standpoint, I thought there might be an upslip to the right ilium, as there was a rotational aspect to the pelvis. From an energetic standpoint, there was a pulling away and hiding from her masculine energy as there was no flow of energy running down her right leg, but instead the energy was flowing upwards.

As I assessed and mobilized her pelvis, I asked her what was going on in her life at the time of the fall. She reported she is a painter, and it was before Christmas, and she had accepted too many commissioned projects that had her working til 2-3 in the morning. She had over-committed herself. She also shared that she was feeling very burned out and not creative enough with her own projects that she normally liked doing.

Treatment: After mobilizing and helping bring balance and movement back to her pelvic bones, I asked her to tune into her ovaries to see what she sensed about them. I shared with her some options of what she might find. The energy of a normal ovary is like a plump juicy grape. It could also be like a shriveled raisin or an overextended balloon, or it could be absent.

As she tuned in, she reported her left ovary was like a raisin, and her right ovary was a balloon. This matched what Tami Lynn Kent writes about in her Wild Feminine book, as the overextended right ovary is about overdoing, and the raisin-like left ovary is blocked. Normal ovarian energy, like juicy grapes, allows the left ovary to bring in the inspiration of a creation and give input to the right side in its doing and creating of the creation. Rarely though, do I find anyone who has ovaries that are connected and supporting one another.

Client Outcome: After working with her ovaries and helping them to come back on board in a balanced way, her pelvis felt much more even and softer and her alignment was back to normal. She got up and felt way more grounded in her body, and her feet felt heavy on the floor. She realized that her fall was her body’s way of letting her know she was out of balance, and she was able to solidify a plan to keep her work and creative space more balanced in her life.

Conclusion: This is just an example of how we can help our clients understand more about how their bodies are assisting them in how they are showing up in their lives. Sometimes accidents are just accidents, and other times, they may be a way the body is trying to get our attention.

Learning how to work at these deeper levels is so rewarding and fun! Working with ovarian energy is taught in the Birth Healing Intensive Program.
