Join the Movement to Heal Moms!
Together we can ensure moms feel good in their bodies
Why Do We Need A Movement to Heal Moms?
After working with thousands of postpartum clients over the years, I have found that the body doesn’t always return to its optimal position after birth. The pelvis can remain in what I call an “Open Birthing Pattern“. When this pattern is treated, and the bones are brought back together, moms’ pain disappears, they feel more stable and grounded in their bodies, and they realize the beautiful truth that they are NOT broken.
Many of my postpartum clients come to me frustrated after trying all the things. They want their bodies back. They want to feel good again. They want to get back to doing the things they love to do, and sometimes, their bodies won’t allow them to do that. When I am able to assess the body, the open birthing pattern, treat the bones, and bring the pelvis back into a closed position, I immediately see a positive change in my clients that they feel as well. My clients feel stability in their bodies, are in less pain, and, most importantly – they now know and can build trust in their body’s ability to heal and function. Trusting in their body, again, helps them feel more centered and assured in their own sense of self and can create a huge shift both physically and mentally in their trajectory to heal fully after birth.
Creating a Movement to Heal Moms Fully
I’m so passionate about teaching about how to identify and treat the Open Birthing Pattern because I have seen such extraordinary results with my clients. Not only has treating this pattern helped moms in the early postpartum, but it has also even helped moms like my aunt, who are 40 plus years postpartum. I am a big believer that it is never too late to heal!
For this reason, I am creating a MOVEMENT to help all pelvic health practitioners know what to look for and how to treat this open birthing pattern in the pelvis as well as how to treat other common patterns found in the body after birth.
If you feel called to help heal moms, please join me in this movement and learn what to look for and how to treat these patterns in your postpartum clients. Together we can create postpartum care worldwide that ensures moms have the support they need to fully heal after birth. Join me and help moms know they are not broken and that they can trust in their body’s ability to heal.
Naming the Movement to Heal Moms Moms: PLEASE HELP!
I know that the movement I am creating to train pelvic floor practitioners worldwide so together we can help moms fully heal after birth is a huge part of my life’s mission…
AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO CALL IT 🙂 CAN YOU HELP?
I would love your help in coming up with a name for this movement to educate pelvic health practitioners worldwide on how to close up the open birth pattern, so we can create a positive force in healing moms after birth and ensure they no longer feel broken in their bodies.
Please share your ideas in the COMMENTS below on what this movement should be called.
Some suggestions I have received are:
- Close Pelvic Bones Movement | #closepelvicbones
- Close the Pelvis Movement | #closethepelvis
- Moms Aren’t Broken Movement | #nobrokenmoms
I would love any and all additional suggestions for what to name this important movement. Please Comment below or Email Me. Thank you for the help!

“Moms Bodies Aren’t Broken Movement” really gets to the point and makes it more accessible to laypeople! Love this overall idea
I vote “close the pelvis”
Moms Aren’t Broken Movement | #nobrokenmoms
Love it Jessica! Thanks.
Thanks Kat!
I agree! Thanks Natalie
Moms aren’t broken. I love this one hands down!
“Mama Alignment” , “New-mama alignment”
“Mama Pelvic Repo” (like repostition)
I think something more clear and to the point would be easier to understand. Close or Heal the pelvis or something similar. Different thoughts came in my head when I read Mom’s aren’t broken
Moms Matter, support 4th trimester care
I’m with Natalie on this one… I think the no broken moms makes the most sense to a layperson. I also am 100% behind this movement #golynn!
Love this Megan! Thanks so much! #goMegan!!
They sure do Matter! Thanks Alex!
Could we combine it? #Mom’saren’tbroken-Closethepelvis? #NoBrokenMoms-ClosethePelvis? Thanks Heather!
Thanks Stephanie. In my mind the Alignment piece is different from the pelvic bones closing again. Do you agree?
Thanks Betsey for your vote!! #NoBrokenMoms!
What about something like the Postpartum Pelvis Movement? I know there’s a lot more to the pelvis than the bones so I’m trying to think how to incorporate that without being too wordy.
Close the Pelvis After Birth Movement
Birthing Bones Movement
Postpartum Closure Movement
Postpartum Bone Closure Movement
Pelvic Bones Matter Movement
Postpartum Pelvic Restoration Movement
Close the Birthing Bones Movement
Bringing the Birthing Bones Back
There’s my brainstorming session!
You’re the best Michelle! I love it. Thanks so much!
My doula friend offers ‘Closing the Bones’- not sure if this is just a UK thing but could be confusing, although it sounds as though the aims are similar. I’d suggest something like Postnatal Pelvic Restore
#ReclaimYourBody Movement
Preparing moms for healthier and stronger postpartum.
Healing the post partum pelvis.? Close the pelvis could sound scary to someone who is not familiar at first with the concept. I love that you are doing this because I think maternal care in the US is lacking!
I like the ‘Mums Aren’t Broken Movement’ but then I also like the Birth Healing Movement, or maybe ‘Postpartum Healing Movement’
Closing the pelvis and closing the bones remind me of the term ‘slipped disc’ where it needs to be put back into place and clients fear moving incase it pops out again. This scares people. We don’t want to give a fear message, we want to tell them that they are not broken and we can help their body to recover from the pregnancy changes. I’m in the UK so these terms may mean different things to others here.
Yes, that is a wrapping of the body which is way different than what I teach although similar concept. Thanks Hazel!
Thanks so much Shuchi!
Thanks Meenakshi!
Totally agree with the lack. I’m glad people are saying the close the pelvis could be scary cause I am so close to it I wouldn’t have seen that angle. Thanks so much Katie!
Thanks so much Tracey! I agree!
Moms aren’t broken
I like ‘Birth Healing Movement’ and it is clear and goes with your name – The Institute for Birth Healing. I agree with the comments about “closing the bones”,and “closing the pelvis” – to someone unfamiliar with the concept I believe it may instill fear.
Thanks Kira!
Thanks Justine!
I love the Birth Healing Movement. It is exactly what you (and we) are passionate about!
I love Michelle’s Postpartum Pelvis Movement! I feel like it tackles a lot of the issues in one.
Why stay open when you can close! #openbirthingpatternclosure
Love them all!
Karli, I LOVE this! Of course, WHY?
